UniArgus Helps Improve and Secure the Operations of Chain Restaurants

The hospitality industry is taking advantages of the latest digital surveillance technology to improve and secure business operations. The installation of UniArgus systems in S. Dynasty Restaurant chain successfully helps the management identify and conduct operational improvements. “Being able to monitor every restaurant from any remote location with Internet access is invaluable”, said its top management.

Effective management is a challenge to the owners and the managers of chain stores. Monitoring all aspects of the stores and responding to key events and issues are critical yet difficult to achieve. The employees sometimes fail to provide quality service and to be corrected in time. The risk of thefts is also a growing concern.

Conveniently located in the midtown of New York City,  S. Dynasty Restaurant is famous for its excellent food and service, comfortable ambience and contemporary deco. To better oversee the operations of its chain restaurants, the management decided to install IP-based surveillance systems. In this project, two major requirements from the customer were the capability to monitor the chain restaurants located in different areas remotely and ease of use. UniSVR’ digital surveillance solution was evaluated selected to fulfill the requirements.

Before the project was developed, the top managers of S. Dynasty Restaurant chain had to visit its restaurants one by one for overseeing all key activities. Now UniArgus systems allowthe managers to conduct live monitoring of the chain restaurants even on vacation or during business trip. “Being able to monitor every restaurant from any remote location with Internet access is invaluable”, said its top management.

An effective surveillance system provides the owners and the managers of chain stores the insights they need to improve customer service and business efficiency. In this project, eight Day/Night analog cameras, a video server and a UniArgus server were installed in each chain restaurant of S. Dynasty. During the business hours, the management monitors the chain restaurants simultaneously and y keeps a watchful eye particularly on employees as well as customers, and the payment area. During the off hours, entrances, cellar storage and other critical areas could be monitored through the Internet. It helps reduce the loss by theft. The videos are also recorded on the servers for retrievals.

The installation of UniArgus CMS is also planned in the next phase of the project. The solution provides great flexibility and scalability to add more cameras, more servers and even more chain restaurants based on the customer’s future requirements.
