Q & A

The UniArgus Concept

Q:

Does UniArgus support 3G?

A:

Yes, UniArgus may transmit image in 3G data stream format to 3G mobile phone. Currently this function is available in UniArgus ASP edition.

Q:

Does UniArgus support “10-foot Experience” user interface?

A:

Yes, UniArgus does. Currently this function is available in UniArgus ASP edition.

Q:

What do I need to know before evaluating UniArgus Express?

A:

Please check these prerequisites: (1) a PC with sufficient hardware capability (refer to product specification) (2) reliable TCP/IP and Ethernet network (3) one or more network UniArgus-supported cameras (refer to product specification) (4) UniArgus Express software (5) trial key needed during installing UniArgus Express.
The network communication between PC (for running UniArgus Express) and network camera should be test, make sure the network address are properly configured before proceed to install and test.

Q:

How many network cameras does one UniArgus system support?

A:

The answer depends on camera models, frame rate, as well as processor power and network bandwidth. Supporting 16 network cameras in one UniArgus box is a safety number for almost all scenarios, providing network bandwidth is sufficient and processor power is above the requirement of product specification. Supporting hundreds of cameras in one UniArgus box is also possible and has been field-proven, please contact your technical support for more detail.

Q:

What OS does UniArgus run on?

A:

Server and client program are all recommended on Windows XP Professional or above.

Q:

What kind of the network will UniArgus run on?

A:

UniArgus run on standard TCP/IP network. User can use it over LAN, WAN, and internet to view the video and control surveillance equipment.

Q:

Since the security guard is 24 Hr on duty, why do we need a UniArgus?

A:

The security guard can cover limited area and details. A surveillance device such as a camera is equivalent to the eyes of an additional security staff, permanently present in the target area. Surveillance system such as UniArgus allows the security staffs to manage not only a larger area, but also manage incidents or suspicious activities aggressively. The security staffs will have all information in front of them, and response to events in the shortest time and in the optimal way.

The UniArgus Functions

Q:

How does UniArgus store the video data?

A:

UniArgus store video data in compressed format, the compression method is industrial standards such as MPEG4, Motion-JPEG, or future new compression technology. These data will store at hard disk, managed with the aid of database.
